Principles

You should not have to rebuild the basics.

Signing a document. Answering a support request. Managing a subscription. These are ordinary parts of running a business. The software behind them should be affordable. You should not need a software budget in the thousands just to cover the basics.

Per-seat pricing is part of the problem. So are expensive base plans, features held behind upgrades, and contracts that turn basic tools into major expenses. Removing seats only matters if the whole bill makes sense.

If AI helps us build software for less, that should show up in what you pay. It should also shape what we build: focused tools that do their job without needing expensive infrastructure to keep them running.

You can build your own tools. Sometimes you should. But you should not have to build a signing service or a support desk just to get a price you can justify. Something already built should be useful enough, affordable enough, and maintained well enough to earn its place in your business.

That is the standard we want OpenSoft to meet. Each product has a specific job. We aim to keep it inexpensive to run, whether it lives on your infrastructure or ours. Affordable hosting starts with software that does not need much hosting.

Running it well takes more than compute. There are security updates, backups, storage, mail delivery, and maintenance. Our hosted price should cover that work and the infrastructure, with enough left to keep improving the product. A sustainable business at a price you can justify.

Every product is open source. Self-host it with every feature, no licence key and no paid feature gates. You cover your own infrastructure. If you would rather have us run it, there is one flat hosted price per product. No seat charges. No Enterprise page. No sales call to find out what it costs. Adding people does not change the price.

We want using OpenSoft to make more sense than rebuilding the basics to escape a bill. Read the code. Run it yourself. Or pay us to keep it running. We should earn that choice every month.
